Highlights you can enjoy
in any sort of weather

If you don’t want to flip through holiday guides, would you like a ready-made summary of all the main points of interest in this area? Here you are then! We have put together our recommendations for exploring Bolzano and the surrounding area!

  • Salewa Cube climbing hall
Climb indoors, but feel as if you’re in the open air: you can really do this in Italy’s largest climbing hall! Here are some facts and figures: over 2,000 m² of climbing surface, space for 200 climbers at the same time, a via ferrata outside, 420 m² of boulder surface and much more!

  • The MuSe Science Museum in Trento
The exhibition space covers an area of 12,600 m² on 6 different floors, taking you on an extraordinary journey into the magical world of science and nature. It provides a unique experience for children, but is fascinating for adults too!

  • Acquarena Bressanone
Have you been to the Thermal Baths in Merano? Then we’d like to recommend the Acquarena adventure pool in Bressanone, with indoor and outdoor pools, various types of sauna, scenic terraces, and good food available at the adjoining restaurant.

  • Novacella Abbey
Novacella Abbey is well worth a visit for lovers of history and art: the baroque decorations in the church, the beautiful cloister, the art gallery and the extraordinary library are all particularly special.

  • Twenty Shopping Centre
Is the weather bad? Have your plans gone up in smoke? There’s always a plan B, and it could be a really tempting alternative. Bolzano, capital of South Tyrol, is home to the Twenty shopping centre. With more than 80 shops to choose from, you can enjoy yourself all day.

  • Caldaro Wine Museum
The Caldaro Wine Museum is just 15 kilometres from Bolzano. Discover the fascinating world of wines, presented in an interactive way: follow the journey from vineyard to bottle - and more besides.

  • The Sanctuary of Pietralba - a well-known pilgrimage site
This famous place of pilgrimage is set among the woods and meadows of Monte Regolo, in the municipality of Nova Ponente. Legend has it that the Madonna appeared here to a local farmer, Leonardo Weissensteiner, curing him of a deadly disease. She asked him to build a small chapel by way of thanks. The imposing sanctuary now stands on that site.
